Jackson Browne is still the best!
"I grew up in Jackson, MS, where I often attended California Classic concerts in the early to mid 70s with David Lindley, my all time fave. For years, I've told friends about those "good old days". I was a little skeptical as to whether he would live up to my memories. He exhibited a clear love of playing and connection with the audience back then, often taking requests from the audience at the end of his set list, playing late into the evening just because he didn't want to stop. Some 35 years later, I doubted whether I'd get that same vibe. However, I was not in the least disappointed. The opening set was terrific, and I really enjoyed the covers of familiar songs. But as the evening progressed "backward" into Jackson's older playlist, I began to get that familiar vibe I had hoped for. Here were those coming of age songs for me that had meant so much all those years ago, played and sung true to the original feel. It was like going home, and I'm so glad I did not miss this one!"
